Fundraising With The Midlife Crisis Band

Outside it may have been cold and dark, but inside the enthusiastic crowd was warm in spirits as they were treated to an evening of classic cover versions, dancing, beer, wine and delicious food.

The event had two aims; to raise funds for Midhurst Palliative Care and to increase awareness of the new charity.

George Marchand, Chair of Trustees, Midhurst Palliative Care, and Alex MacCallum, Trustee and sax player in the band, kicked off the evening with a brief introduction about the charity's history and purpose. They explained to supporters that the new charity is taking its first steps as the fundraising arm of the well-established and well known Midhurst Macmillan Service, based now for many years at Midhurst Community Hospital. We heard how the service was previously funded by Macmillan Cancer Support, but that now the new charity is taking over this vital funding role.

Wow, what a great band. Loved all the music they played-a lot of nostalgic tracks! Brilliant musicians

Volunteers were on hand to talk about the role of the new charity, answer questions, hand out information leaflets and take donations. They were helping get the message out to local supporters that together we need to raise around £500,000 annually to sustain and grow the service.

An important message was that all donations to Midhurst Palliative Care are exclusively used to fund the Midhurst Macmillan Service.

Elsted Fundraisers
what better a way to launch the vital message of the charity than an evening of entertainment from this fabulous local band
Three Horseshoes pub, Elsted

Sue Beavis and her team from the Three Horseshoes pub in Elsted provided the bar for the night and served everyone hot bowls of tasty chilli in the interval.

They are owed a huge thank you for organising the evening; all of the team worked so hard on the night to make it such a success.

A fantastic total of over £2,500 was raised by this event for Midhurst Palliative Care from ticket sales and donations from our supporters. A massive thank you to everyone who attended and gave generously.
