About Sharon

Sharon Sheppard is the Clinical Service Manager at Midhurst Macmillan and her main emphasis is managing the nursing team and the day to day operation of the service.

Sharon holds a BSC First Class Honours Degree in Palliative and End of life care/Non-medical Prescribing and has now started a Masters. She trained at St Richard's Hospital, Chichester and qualified in 1990. Sharon then worked on medical and surgical wards before travelling to Australia where she first experienced working in a palliative care unit. On her return to England she joined the Macmillan team when they were based at King Edward VII Hospital, Midhurst for the next 20 years.

Sharon has also worked for: St Barnabas House, St Wilfrid's Hospice, University Hospital Sussex Trust in the Palliative Care Team, the Breast Cancer Service and has been Matron of the Clinical Nurse Specialists at Worthing Hospital. 

Sharon has always had a passion and commitment for Oncology and Palliative care and is particularly interested in developing therapeutic relationships with her patients and their families and working in a holistic way.

Outside work, Sharon enjoys music, running and spending time with her family.
